Dr. K. N. Balasubramanya Murthy
Dayananda Sagar University, Bangalore
Dr. K. N. Balasubramanya Murthy is the Vice Chancellor of Dayayanda Sagar University, Bangalore, and a former Vice-Chancellor of PES University, Bangalore, who served PESU for two terms. Dr. Murthy has served PES Institute of Technology (PESIT), Bangalore as the Principal & Director from 2005 to 2014 and has over 35 years of experience in teaching, training, research, industry and administration.
He holds a Bachelors Degree in Electrical power Engineering from Malnad College of Engineering then affiliated to University of Mysore (1980), Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (1986) and Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai (1996).
He was invited to New Mexico State University, Las Cruces, USA as a research specialist in Parallel Computing during August 1998 and January 1999. He worked in Analytix Private Limited as Member Technical - Grade I and Lisle Technology Partners India Private Limited as Software Architect during 200-2001.
He served East West Institute of Technology, Bengaluru as its Founder Principal during 2001-2005. He served as a member of the Academic Senate and Executive Council as well as several academic committees of Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) - Belgaum of Karnataka.
Dr. Murthy has supervised 4 research scholars for Ph.D. degree and authored over 110 research papers in reputed journals and conferences. He is also the adjudicator of Ph.D thesis and is presently guiding five Ph.D scholars.
He has been serving as a member on the Board of BITES for the second term and become its Chairman on June 28, 2017. He served as a member of a committee constituted by Karnataka Knowledge Council (KKC) for recommending mechanisms to enhance employability of engineering graduates in the state of Karnataka. He is currently a member of Karnataka State Higher Education Council of Government of Karnataka. He is a recognized NAAC Peer Team member and headed PEER TEAMS for NAAC accreditation of several colleges. He has served as a member on search committees for appointment of Vice-Chancellors of a few universities.
