Rashtreeya Vidyalaya College of Engineering (RVCE) established in 1963 is the flagship institution of Rashtreeya Sikshana Samithi Trust (RSST) and one of the earliest self-financing engineering colleges in the country.  RVCE today recognized as one of India’s leading technical institutions. It is rated amongst the top five self-financing Engineering colleges in the country. Several leading National English magazines have rated the institution as the best institute in the nation amongst self-financing institutions, based on Return on Investment by a student. RVCE is the preferred destination for top ranking aspirants, both for UG and PG programs.

The institution has set itself a vision to be a “Leader in Technical Education, Interdisciplinary Research and Innovation with a focus on Sustainable and Inclusive Technologies”. The institution has students strength of about 5500, research scholars 200 guided by more than 375 qualified faculty. The placement in most of the departments is over 95%.

RVCE is an autonomous institution affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) Belagavi. The curriculum for UG & PG programs are designed by Board of Studies and approved by the Academic Council. The institution offers 12 Bachelors and 17 Post-graduate programs. Fifteen departments are VTU recognized research centres for M.Sc (Engg.) and Ph.D. studies. Eleven UG programs and Ten Post-graduate programs are accredited by National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The institution is accredited by NAAC.

The institution has won several awards and accolades which includes - Ranked 63rd in the Country by National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF)–2018-19, “Engineering College of the Year-2018” by the Higher Education Review Magazine, Ranked 38th in the country by The Week Magazine-2019, Ranked 9th among the top 10 of 100 Pvt. Engg. Colleges in the Country by Education World Magazine.

The institution has to its credit over 1300 National and International Journal publications, filed over 40 patents, 32 published patents, completed sponsored research and consultancy projects worth Rs.30.0 crores in the last three years. The institution has established Incubation Centre (7 incubatees are currently working), Centre of Excellence in Macroelectronics, Cisco sponsored Centre of Excellence in Internet of Things, RVCE-Mercedes Benz Centre for Automotive Mechatronics, Toyota Kirloskar Motors sponsored Automotive workshop, RV-Bosch Rexroth Centre for Automation, Centre for Smart Antenna Systems and Centre for Computational Genomics. The students have won awards and accolades in national and international competitions.
